My feet sit on the edge of the gutter,
water hits my toes,
the clear, blue liquid runs over my feet.
Chlorine overflows my nostrils,
And burns my eyes.
The vast water fills with waves,
they push against the lane line.
My arms swing back and my feet plant into the water,
Droplets fly into the air behind me,
white foam is created.
My head submerges into the water,
absorbing the chemicals into my skin.
Water surrounds me.
Muffled noises fill my brain,
bubbles float past my eyes,
and water sneaks into my mouth.
Water slithers down my throat,
I gasp for air.
